PALAZZOLI develops and designs all its own Products and the relative production Processes using the most modern systems CAD-CAM available today, the most powerful solid three-dimensional modelling programmes: the Engineers and the Research & Innovation, Planning and Industrialization Technicians all constantly interact using the company computer network, used also by external Suppliers, to guarantee that the entire New Product Development cycles is as effective as possible.
PALAZZOLI has in-house Mechanical Workshops all equipped with the most advanced Numerical Control technologies, which are capable of functioning without the presence of an operator: single-spindle milling machines, multi-spindle milling machines, Swiss-type lathes with multi-tool device, anthropomorphist robots for the loading and unloading of processed pieces. After the mechanical processing, the metal trays and covers are varnished in a completely automated unit, consisting in a first phase of chemical pre-treatment, essential in order to clean and prepare the piece, and a second powder-based varnishing phase, which is followed by polymerization in kilns. The quality of the varnishing is constantly monitored by destructive mechanical and chemical tests, on relative production sample batches. The new Thermoplastic Material Moulding department is equipped with latest generation machinery. The mould parameters are all computer handled and are assisted by manipulator robots which unload the pieces and sprues.
PALAZZOLI has collected a patrimony of over 1,000 dies during its long production history which are used for the various moulding technologies: metal die-casting, thermosetting moulding and thermoplastic moulding. The final production phase consists in the assembly and final inspection and testing operations.
The main sub-assemblies and products are manufactured on complex automated assembly lines; to guarantee assured quality and reliability, the mechanical and electrical testing is performed using special automatic testing units, which aim to globally test the safety and functional conditions and guarantee 100% precision.
The Quality Control Department is also equipped with a vast number of high-precision mechanical measuring instruments, including three-dimensional DAE devices. The entire Production chain is constantly monitored by Quality Assurance: the Planning, Production, Control and Maintenance activities are all performed according to precise procedures and documents prepared in compliance with what provided by the ISO 9001 Standard, standards for which PALAZZOLI was certified in 1996 by CSQ.
The latest technologies have also been implemented in the Warehouse and Logistics Departments: Automatic Vertical Storage and optical barcode scanners make handling and consignment procedures more efficient. The modern System Management Software, based on MRP and "just in time" methods, is supported by a network of over 50 personal computers, that manage all the flow of information, from the reception of materials, to the in-house and outsourced processing, and the consignment of the finished Products.
